Perspectives from the Developed and Developing World AT A GLANCE DAY ONE - Monday DAY TWO - Tuesday DAY THREE - Wednesday DAY FOUR - Thursday DAY FIVE - Friday ![]() WELCOME TO CANBERRA On behalf of the Advisory Committee I welcome you to Canberra and the 3rd Rosenberg International Forum on Water Policy. This year’s Forum will include field trips to the Murray-Darling River Basin and to the Snowy Mountains. These trips will provide an opportunity to learn first hand about some of the unique water management innovations in Australia. The trips are also an occasion to become reacquainted with returning participants and meet the new participants. Two days of formal sessions and informal discussions will focus on innovations in water management from both the developed and developing world. There will be 18 paper presentations and six discussion periods that will focus on topics ranging from integrated river basin management to institutional innovations in water management. I hope you will find the presentations and discussions interesting and stimulating. This year the CalFed Bank of San Francisco, California joins with the Bank of America and the University of California as the primary U.S. sponsors of the Forum. Local sponsors from Australia, who are identified in the program, have been very generous in their support of the Forum. Representatives of the local sponsoring organizations are attending the Forum and I hope that each of you will make yourselves known to them and join with me in thanking them for their support. Canberra is one of the world’s modern planned cities, centered on a water environment though located well-inland. The dates of the Forum coincide with the Canberra spring flower festival, Floriade. I hope that each of you will find time to enjoy this spring festival as well as the Australian National Museum and other interesting sites in and around Canberra. This year’s Forum promises to be the best yet and I hope that you find your stay in Canberra and Australia to be personally and professionally rewarding. Sincerely yours,
